@CultOfTheGlenda
I'm 17 and think Linux is better, i use both windows7 and Ubuntu 10.04, win7 is unstable as hell if you compare with Ubuntu 10.04, Windows user tells Linux sucks only because they payed for it or fear to try out Linux. Linux is way better than windows.
-No viruses
-Stable
-Free
-Free software and drivers
-Easy to use ( Installing software via debian package is easier than exe )
Linux got basically more features than windows.

I would love to use Linux but there are only two things holding me back: Adobe support (I'm sorry, but Photoshop in Wine sucks :P) and gaming. Wine is good, but not good enough for me. (FYI I used Ubuntu 10.04 for about two months before I couldn't take the issues with Wine.)

@CultOfTheGlenda well the only thing linux lets down is the games department, because it doesnt really support directx, but if youre a programmer or doing anything else that does not involve direct x its a much faster, much more stable, and quite simple interface, i always end up switching from windows to linux, i keep windows just because of the games.

@poli45 You'd need to install CompizConfig Settings Manager (CCSM) via the Software Center (if you're on Ubuntu). From there you can enable the "Desktop Cube" and "Rotate Cube" plugins.
CultOfTheGlenda (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@opiumrx Linux does very little better than Windows, but it does do some things better. For the desktop user the cons of Linux greatly outweigh the pros.

@CultOfTheGlenda youre an idiot if you truly think so
CultOfTheGlenda (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@johnthegreek178 Of course you are 12; only 12 year olds would think Linux is better.

@poli45 I could not tell you before because I was using Windows. Go to applications-ubuntu software center- and search for compizconfig, after you install the program it will be located at system-preferences-compizconfig. From there you will be able to use many graphic tools. :) |
